Thomas Fleming, 10th Baron Slane, possessed inherited the barony of Slane from James Fleming (his first cousin once removed) in 1577.

Death
Thomas Fleming, 10th Baron Slane, died on 9 November 1597 at age ~82. He is reputed to be buried in the hermitage of St Erc in the Slane Castle demesne, along with his wife, but the graves are not marked. On his death, his peerage became in abeyance between his two daughters. His daughter Elinor Fleming married her 3rd cousin (William Fleming) who inherited the barony of Slane from her late father.
