Charles Fleming, 15th Baron Slane, died killed in battle circa 1661 at age ~40 in Italy. During his many years of military service on the continent, Charles Fleming was mentored by James Stewart, the Duke of York and later King James II of England. James Stewart later became the sponsor of Charles Fleming's nephew (Charles O'Gara).
