John Fleming, of Kilmalcolm, was born circa 1390. He may have sprung from the Barochan branch because Kilmalcolm is just 6 miles from Barochan. On the other hand, there was legal action between the Kilmalcolm and Barochan Flemings in 1567 (Barochan won), so it is probably more likely that the Kilmalcolm line sprung from either the Kirkmichael or Dumbarton lines.
