Sir Christopher Fleming, 8th Baron Slane, possessed inhertited the Barony of Slane from his late father in 1492.1 He possessed built a Franciscan friary and college on the site of an earlier abbey in 1512 in Slane, Ireland.1,2 He possessed re-founded and built in stone the ancient hermitage of St Erc on the castle grounds in 1513 in Slane, Ireland.3
