William ("2b"), Flandrensis, was born circa 1068.

Working life
- Circa 1089 William ("2b"), Flandrensis, was occupied as probably liegeman to Ranulf de Meschin. He may also have been his steward.1
- In 1099 William ("2b"), Flandrensis, was occupied as knight for Ranulf le Meschin.2
- In 1131 William ("2b"), Flandrensis, was occupied as accountant for the widow of Richard de St Medard in Cottesbrook, Northamptonshire.3
Death
William ("2b"), Flandrensis, died when he was struck by an arrow while leading the defence of the castle at Arques, Normandy in 1145 at age ~77 in Arques, Normandy. The castle was under siege by Geoffrey Plantagenet, who had assumed the title Duke of Normandy in 1144.
