- On 8 September 1346 Patrick ("Sheriff of Peebles") Fleming, of Biggar, was occupied as Sheriff of Tweedale (i.e. Peebles) in Tweedale. David, king of Scots, has given his beloved and faithful Patrick Fleming the office of sheriff of the whole sheriffdom of Tweeddale (i.e., Peebles) together with the leadership (ducatu) of the men of the whole sheriffdom, in feu and heritage.10,11,2,7
