Family life

William Bruce, of Airth, 9G grandson of Robert I, and Jean Fleming were married in 1583.1

Jean Fleming possessed was due 56/10/7 from Thankerton and 49/12/- from Biggar as well as produce as her sixth part of her late father's estate and she undertook to refund any surplus to be divided equally amongst her father's bairns on 24 September 1579.3 She possessed retained a liferent in the lands Newtown in the barony of Bothkennar granted in a royal charter to Patrick Bruce and his future wife Jonette Jackson on 5 July 1627 in Newtown in the barony of Bothkennar.4

Death

Jean Fleming died in October 1630 at age ~65.1 She had her estate probated on 24 November 1630 at Stirling in Commissary Court.5
