Baldwin Flandrensis, de Biggar, immigrated circa 1147 to Biggar. Note that his father Stephen died around this time. And so did his liege lord, Alan, 1st Earl of Richmond.

Working life
- In 1135 Baldwin Flandrensis, de Biggar, was occupied as knight in the household of Waleran de Beaumont (Count of Meulan.) He would have been bound to support the Count in his support of King Stephen who usurped the throne of England and the Duchy of Normandy in that year.1
- In 1141 Baldwin Flandrensis, de Biggar, was occupied as knight in the household of Alan of Brittany. Baldwin's leige lord, Waleran, surrendered to Empress Maude in 1141 and was accepted at the court of Geoffrey of Anjou. Baldwin then became a household knight of Alan of Brittany. Count Alan of Brittany was also Earl of Richmond and a supporter of King Stephen.3
- Between 1147 and 1164 Baldwin Flandrensis, de Biggar, was occupied as Sheriff in Lanarkshire, Scotland.4
- In 1162 Baldwin Flandrensis, de Biggar, was occupied as Sheriff of Lanarkshire in Biggar. The shire of Lanark, at that period, included what is now the county of Renfrew.3,5,6,7,4
- In 1164 Baldwin Flandrensis, de Biggar, was occupied as fought at the Battle of Renfrew in Paisley.5

Baldwin Flandrensis, de Biggar, possessed land in fee to Walter FitzAlan circa 1169.
5,6 He possessed land that he granted in fee to Hugh of Pettinain circa 1170 in Kilpeter.
5,8,9 He possessed granted as Baldwinus vicecomes de Lanharc the church of Inverkip to the monks of Paisley Abbey in 1173 in Inverkip.

Baldwin Flandrensis, de Biggar, was buried in Biggar. He died after 1174 in Biggar.
