William Fleming, of Bord, and Agnes Livingstone, of Manerstoun, were married circa 1536. Balfour Paul notes "for which marriage a dispensation was granted by John Thornton, apostolic protonotary in 1536, they being in the fourth degree of consanguinity". This means that they must have been first cousins or one was the other's great niece or nephew.1,2

  • William Fleming, of Bord, served in the military as was exempted by the Privy Council for service in England in order to stregthen the forces protecting the queen at Stirling on 10 July 1545 in Stirling Castle.3

William Fleming, of Bord, possessed George Colquhoun judicially confessed that he had given to William Fleming, senior, a reversion of the lands of Smythfield for the sum of 120 merks on 4 November 1535.141
