James Fleming, Page of honour to the King, was born circa 1512. In Letters to Mary, Queen of Scots, Malcolm Fleming (Prior of Whithorn) is certainly noticed as second son to Lord Fleming, thus born prior to James, his brother.1

  • On 2 September 1531 James Fleming, Page of honour to the King, was occupied as scholar in Glasgow.2

James Fleming, Page of honour to the King, possessed had a charter of the king, then a minor, in the land of Sunderland in Selkirkshire before 1527 at Selkirkshire in Sunderland.3 He possessed had a charter under the Great Seal, of these lands which had been forfeited by William Cockburn on 4 April 1532 in Henderland and Sunderland.44,3,5
