Death

King James Stewart, V of Scotland, died cholera or dysentry on 14 December 1542 at age 30 in Falkland Palace. Following a few days spent at Linlithgow Palace with Queen Mary, who was in the final stages of her pregnancy, on 6 December James travelled to Falkland Palace, where he soon took ill.[81][16]15,16 He was buried on 8 January 1543 in Holyrood Abbey.
