Jean ("Jane") Fleming, Countess of Cassilis, possessed had her ward and marriage granted to John, eighth Lord Maxwell after 1558.3 She possessed was, through her curators, involved in legal action aimed at confirming reversion of Fleming title to these lands between 30 January 1565 and 5 June 1565 in Kilbocho.5 She possessed had a royal letter commanding the return of these lands to James Douglas, earl of Morton on 8 October 1567 in Kilbocho.673 She possessed had sasine of the lands of Kers belonging to and regarding the abbot and convent of the monastery of the Holy Cross after 35 years in the hands of the king on 9 May 1583 at Stirling in Abbeylands of Kers.8 She possessed had a charter of the lands of Thankerton and Biggar on her resignation as granddaughter and heir of Malcolm, Lord Fleming on 30 October 1583 at Lanark in Thankerton and Biggar.3,8,9,1011,12,131415,12,1617181920,21,2223 She possessed was granted by Parliament an extension of time to repossess his lands because he had been a minor when the original deadline expired in 1585 on 8 June 1594 in Edinburgh.243,25
